Jamshedpur, Oct 10: In a decisive blow to the city’s extortion networks, Golmuri police on Friday arrested dreaded criminal Saurabh Chaudhary, also known as Puran Chaudhary, recovering a country-made pistol and two live .303 cartridges — one of them loaded.

The swift operation, led by Station House Officer Sanjay Suman, was carried out following a tip-off about Chaudhary’s renewed criminal activity in the Golmuri area.

According to police sources, after his release from jail, Chaudhary had teamed up with his associate Devendra Singh, alias “I Love”, to intimidate local traders and contractors for extortion money.

The raid team comprised SHO Sanjay Suman, ASI Gaurav Singh, Rajan Roushan Sinha, Abhay Minz, Vikas Kumar, Ajit Prakash, and other personnel.
