Daltonganj, January 16: Preparations are in full swing for the celebration of the 15th Establishment Day of the Nilamber Pitamber University in Daltonganj on Wednesday. The NP University came into existence on January 17, 2009.
Academic advisor to the governor cum chancellor of the state universities Dr E Balagurusamy is the chief guest at the Establishment Day celebrations. Dr Sanjeev Rai, OSD (university), and lawyer M Tandon are the distinguished guests.
This is the first occasion in the 15 years of this university when two top officials of the Raj Bhavan will be gracing the Establishment Day function here.
This Establishment Day function used to be a pretty stereo-typed one in the past like reading out progress reports where crucial things used to be pushed beneath the carpet and a rosy picture of the university was forced upon the audience and media.

Academic advisor Dr E Balagurusamy is a very candid person who believes in what he sees around the university here in Jharkhand.
Acting VC NPU Dr Tapan Kumar Shandilya too knows that academic activities in this university are grounded and it will take extra effort and care for its take off.
Last year the university held the PhD entrance test after a gap of 5 years which too was marred by ugly incidents but no successful PhD test candidate has even begun his or her first task of having a clearance from the DRC!
The research supervisors are aloof, the research scholars are in the wilderness of inaction here.
Acting registrar of the Nilamber Pitamber University Dr Mritunjay Kumar said the celebration is roughly of 3 hours with some cultural bonanza too.
Acting finance officer Dr R K Jha’s research paper will be released on this occasion along with the souvenir of the university.
There is joy and excitement. Tribal girls were seen practising their song dance today.
