Daltonganj, May 14: Nilamber Pitamber University (NPU) is now actively seeking to reclaim 8 acres of its land, including buildings, a playground, water resources, and other infrastructure, currently under the control of the India Reserve Battalion (IRB) 10.

This portion, located in the second half of the GLA College campus in Daltonganj, has been occupied by the battalion for several months.

IRB 10 moved into the area in 2024 after the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), which had stationed there for over three decades, vacated the premises.
With the CRPF gone, NPU is asserting its claim over the land and infrastructure, citing the need to expand academic and sports facilities for the university’s growth and development.
