Daltonganj, June 25: A war footing effort is on for the conduct of the exam and its subsequent publication of the results in the Nilamber Pitamber University (NPU) in Daltonganj.
Vice Chancellor of the Nilamber Pitamber University Dr Prof Dinesh Kumar Singh has exams and results on the top of his agenda saying, “It’s the sanctity of the exams and transparency in its results that are the badge of the reputation of any university and this university is to show it and prove it and our team is striving hard for it.”
Efforts to Clear Academic Backlog
Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of Exam, Dr Gaurav Srivastav, informed, “Under orders of the VC, our entire team from a fleet of examiners down to the exam department, hectic efforts are on to publish sixth semester UG exams results in the second week of July.”

“The UG sixth semester exam was over only on May 28. 90 per cent written answer books of it have already been examined by the examiners. Smaller lots are underway,” added Dr Gaurav.

Sources said it was VC Dr Prof Dinesh Kumar Singh who had made it clear to all concerned that summer holidays beginning June 1 for three weeks should not come in the way of the publication of the results.
The NPU’s exam department led by the incharge controller Dr Ajit Seth and OSD exam Dr Gaurav Srivastav and team, left no stone unturned to clear this 6th semester UG exam which was already running almost one academic calendar late causing a massive blockade on the admission into the PG courses in the session 2024-26.
MBBS Centre Choice Draws Criticism
The university has meanwhile announced exam schedules for the MBBS supplementary exam of the first year of session 2023-27 and the MBBS third year first part exam of the session 2021-25, and both the exams have their centres in the Elite Public B Ed College Chianki.
The MBBS supplementary exam is to begin on/from July 4, while MBBS third year first part on/from July 10.
Vice Chancellor Dr Dinesh said, “We have scrapped the Home centre exam of the MBBS. We have set up the exam centre in the Elite Public B Ed College, which is affiliated to this university.”
“Exams and their related things are very sensitive matters and the university has all the discretion and authority to fix centres of the exams which shouldn’t cause any stomache to anyone,” reiterated the VC.
A section of the students’ bodies has alleged that the university is ‘bypassing its two constituent colleges in Daltonganj in matters of the centres of the university exams of the MBBS courses and promoting and patronising private B Ed colleges.’

The student bodies apprehend that the MBBS exams and the BEd courses exams in any private affiliated college may leave behind trails of questioning over the conduct of the exams. The university trashes it as unfounded apprehension.
On the other hand, the VC said, “It’s nothing but a blatant misinformation. Our exams are conducted in all their sanctity. I will also be making surprise inspection of the exam centres.”
“Let our multi-purpose hall for the exams get going in the near future, we will not be looking around for centres in the colleges then,” reminded the VC.
