Jharkhand News: Orientation ceremony held at Netaji Subhas University for new session students

Jamshedpur, August 8: Netaji Subhas University today hosted a grand orientation programme titled “Nav Agaman – 2025” at its main campus in Pokhari to welcome newly admitted students of the academic session 2025.

The event aimed to introduce the freshers to the university’s academic environment, work culture, and various student-centric initiatives.

The event began with a traditional welcome for the chief guests, accompanied by a vibrant folk dance performance.

University students also presented a graceful Ganesh Vandana, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries to formally inaugurate the programme.

Distinguished guests present on the occasion included Jugsalai MLA Mangal Kalindi; DIG (Special Branch, Jamshedpur) Manoj Ratan Chothe; Rural SP, Jamshedpur Rishabh Garg; Senior SP, Dhanbad Prabhat Kumar; Chancellor of Netaji Subhas University Madan Mohan Singh and Vice Chancellor Prof.  Prabhat Kumar Pani.

The orientation session was designed to familiarize students with the university’s educational practices, cultural ethos, and extracurricular activities.

Speaking at the event, DIG Manoj Ratan Chothe encouraged students to face the challenges of academic life with strength and determination.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Dhanbad), Prabhat Kumar, advised students to maintain a healthy distance from the distractions of the digital world.

“If you want to achieve your goals, you must learn to disconnect from external distractions. You are the architects of India’s future, so focus on your ambitions and keep moving forward,” he said.

Chancellor Madan Mohan Singh emphasized the importance of a disciplined lifestyle, reminding students that their present actions will shape their future.

“Student life lays the foundation of your career, so make it a priority to focus on your present,” he said.

Vice Chancellor Prof.  P.K. Pani, Dean of Law Prof. Acharya Rishi Ranjan, Administrative Coordinator Nazim Khan, Academic Dean Prof. Dilip Shome, IQAC Director Shraddha Verma, along with heads of departments and faculty members from various disciplines, graced the event.

The orientation concluded with informative sessions guiding students on how to make the most of their time at the university and align themselves with academic and personal growth opportunities.
