Daltonganj, August 5: DC Shashi Ranjan visited the Medinirai Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) today and took stock of the situation there.

Medicos today staged a dharna demanding regular electricity, clean drinking water, proper food and a lift to function.

Shashi Ranjan said there will be a convergence of departments like electricity and drinking water to bail out this college of the morass.

He said the lifts are dead. It has to be functional.

The municipal corporation has been asked to clean and clear toilets.

The DC agreed that there is a wanting of infrastructures on the campus. It will be improved.

As for water, deep borings have been suggested. The DC asked the drinking water officials to see to it.

There is a crunch of faculties here for which the government would be persuaded to intervene.

Civil surgeon Dr Anil Kumar and executive engineer electricity Shambhu Nath Choudhury accompanied the DC.
