Daltonganj, Sept 28: A happy family reunion happened today in the Family Court here on the occasion of the National Lok Adalat held here.

The Principal Judge of the Family Court Sanjeev Kumar Das saw the husband and wife melting their ice and anger towards each other.

The man and woman garlanded each other. The Family Court proved a harbinger of hope and peace for the two. A family was saved from disintegration, said court sources.

Couple was living apart for three years

The man and woman looked contented and grateful to the Family Court. The two have a growing daughter.

This family reunion is a great gift for the child who suffers most intensely and silently when the father and mother quarrel and live separately.

District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Secretary Arpit Shrivastava said, “The couple came from a block in Palamu. They were living in great disagreement with each other for three years.”

Arpit Shrivastava said, “We maintain the privacy of the identity. So can’t give you the names of the two. Let’s not invade the privacy of others.”

Maintenance case to be dropped

The two were married in 2016 and since 2021 have been at war with each other, said court sources.

The woman had filed a maintenance case along with a criminal case against her man.

Following a compromise between the two on the initiative and painstaking efforts of the Family Court, the maintenance case will now be dropped.

The DLSA Secretary explained, “Generally three cases are lodged by the woman where there is a rift or discord between woman and man.” The cases are maintenance cases, cases under section 498A and dowry demand cases.

He said, “Once a compromise is reached between man and woman all three cases shed off. It’s a great relief to both the parties.”
