Daltonganj, Oct 5: Paper leak has become a kind of academic infection. There was a deliberate attempt to malign the 15-year-old Nilamber Pitamber University in the name of fake paper leak syndrome, said sources in the university.
Fake news of a paper leak gripped the students of the BBA course here in Daltonganj. It was a second sitting exam on Friday at only two centres, one at the YSNM College Daltonganj and the other at the Garhwa-based college.
Printing error leads to mix-up
It was a case of printer’s folly. A human error or negligence at the printer’s end put Nilamber Pitamber University in a quandary. Here it all happened for which the printer is to explain, said sources.

On October 1, there was the examination of Man Power subject of the BBA course of the session 2021-24. The question packet read October 1. It was duly opened.
On opening of the packet, question papers for Industrial and Labour Legislation slated for October 4 came out instead of the Man Power on October 1 itself.

The Nilamber Pitamber University took a prompt decision. It rejected the paper Industrial and Labour Legislation.
It conducted this paper exam on October 4 as notified earlier in all sanctity.
The lapse was not on the part of the NP University rather the university was victimised, said sources.
It was straightway the fault of the printer which made a wrong packet with the date intact October 1 but inside content was of October 4. This October 4 in the October 1 packet created the mess.
University officials address misinformation
However, some enterprising social media platforms dubbed it a matter of paper leak. It happened so that the rejected October 1 opened paper on Industrial and Labour legislation was made viral as of October 4 paper.
The controller of the university exams, Dr Ravi Shanker, who took over the charge on Friday only, said, “It’s not any paper leak. It’s a disinformation. The NPU is not at fault.”
“The packet bore the date October 1. It was opened lawfully. The inside content was of October 4 in the packet. The NPU very promptly rejected this paper,” reiterated Dr Ravi Shanker.
The exam of the Industrial and Labour Legislation however passed off peacefully on Friday.
