Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya to perform in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Nov 26: Renowned Santoor maestro Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya will enchant school students with his performances under the aegis of SPIC MACAY Jamshedpur, an organization dedicated to promoting classical music, dance, and art among the younger generation. The performances are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.

Bharati Banerjee, coordinator of SPIC MACAY’s Jamshedpur chapter, shared that Pandit Bhattacharya will be accompanied on the tabla by Jyotirmay Roy Choudhury.

The schedule includes a performance at Jamshedpur Public School on Wednesday, November 27, at 11:30 AM, followed by an evening session at KPS Kadma at 6:00 PM.

On Thursday, November 28, the maestro will perform at DAV Bistupur at 8:30 AM and Narbheram Hansraj School, Bistupur, at 11:00 AM.

Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya, a recipient of numerous national and international awards, including honours from the Sangeet Natak Academy, has trained under the legendary Pandit Ravi Shankar and collaborated with various eminent classical musicians.

Banerjee expressed gratitude to the principals and management of the participating schools for their support in fostering an appreciation for classical music, dance, and art among students.
