Jharkhand News: Punjab Regimental Centre gets new office building for Pay Accounts Office in Ramgarh

Ramgarh, June 11: Additional Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) Devika Raghuvanshi today inaugurated the new office building of the Pay Accounts Office (Other Ranks), Punjab Regimental Centre, in Ramgarh.

Speaking on the occasion, Raghuvanshi said that the Defence Accounts Department (DAD) has been in existence since the 1750s and is one of the oldest departments of the government of India.

She further stated that her department pioneered many systemic changes in the functions and processes to keep pace with the technological developments and the growing demands of the services.

Raghuvanshi reiterated that her department is committed to rendering efficient, correct and prompt accounting, payment, internal audit and financial advisory services to the Armed Forces with customers and clients in focus.

Excellence and professionalism

The department is also committed to continually striving to achieve excellence and professionalism in all its functions, leading to customer satisfaction. The CGDA laid great emphasis on self-sufficiency of physical infrastructure in terms of office buildings, residences, transit facilities, etc., for all its offices, officers and staff all over the country especially some offices in the remote areas of the country.

The provision of a new office building for the PAO ( ORS ) PRC Ramgarh was part of this vision.

The Addl. CGDA congratulated Brigadier Sanjay Kandpal, Commandant PRC, Himanshu Shanker, CDA Patna and Vinit Parashar, DCDA for the completion of the building within the scheduled time frame and thanked MES Ramgarh.

Speaking on the occasion, Himanshu Shanker, IDAS, Controller of Defence Accounts Patna said that the building was constructed for Rs 3.4 crores and several facilities have been provided in the office building. Several senior officers of the Indian Army, Defence Accounts Department, Military Engineering Services and Cantonment Board Ramgarh participated in the inauguration function.
