Jamshedpur, June 15: A case of stealing gold jewellery from train no. 18029 LTT Mumbai-Shalimar Express by an inter-state gang, has been successfully solved in a joint operation by GRP and South Eastern Railway’s Railway Protection Force (RPF) team.
Three accused stole jewellery, one was caught in the act
The incident took place on April 4 this year in train no. 18029 LTT Mumbai-Shalimar Express while passing between Jhargram and Mecheda.
An inter-state gang consisting of three accused boarded the train at Jhargram and they executed the plan of stealing jewellery. Out of the three accused, one was caught in the train by the victim with the help of other passengers.

RPF and GRP recover jewellery after conducting raid in Haryana
Deboarding at Mecheda railway station, the victim took the accused to GRP Mecheda where a case was registered.
After interrogating the accused, a raid was conducted at Hisar in Haryana, jointly by Government Railway Police (GRP) and SER’s RPF team and the stolen jewellery was recovered.
Subsequently, in compliance with the court’s order, the recovered gold ornaments were returned to the bonafide owner.
The owner, a woman expressed her gratitude towards railways and the team involved in the operation to solve her case.
