Ranchi, May 5: Ranchi’s Sadar Hospital, steadily emerging as a strong competitor to corporate healthcare institutions in India, added another milestone to its achievements on Monday by successfully performing an advanced surgery for gallstones and gallbladder inflammation using cutting-edge camera technology.

For the first time, a team of doctors at the hospital, led by laparoscopic surgeon Dr. Ajit Kumar, conducted the procedure using a state-of-the-art imaging system that significantly enhances surgical precision and patient safety.

Advanced Camera Technology Enhances Surgical Precision
Senior doctors at Sadar Hospital explained that the technique involves the use of a camera system with Indocyanine Green (ICG) dye, which helps visualize the gallbladder and surrounding organs in distinct colors during the surgery. This enables surgeons to operate with far greater accuracy, reducing the risk of complications.
“This camera-based technology is considered one of the most advanced in minimally invasive surgery. It allows us to identify anatomical structures more clearly, ultimately improving outcomes for patients,” said Dr. Ajit Kumar.
Successful Surgery on 30-year-old Patient
The breakthrough procedure was performed on a 30-year-old female patient from Shyamali Colony, Ranchi, who had been suffering from intense abdominal pain for a week. She was admitted to Sadar Hospital, and the laparoscopic surgery was carried out successfully by Dr. Kumar and his team.

“Her quick recovery and positive response to the surgery show how modern techniques can make a difference in public healthcare. We hope this innovation benefits many more patients at Ranchi Sadar Hospital in the coming days,” added Dr. Kumar. The patient is expected to be discharged on Tuesday.

Team Behind the Procedure
The surgical team included anesthetist Dr. Chandan Jha, OT nurse Sister Nelly, and OT assistants Mantu, Neeraj, Nandini, Sarita, Amita, along with other staff. Their coordinated efforts ensured the success of the complex procedure.

This achievement reinforces Sadar Hospital’s growing reputation as a center for advanced medical care in Jharkhand.
