Dhanbad, Dec 9: Special Armed Police (SAP) Hawaldar Nandkishor Singh was killed in an accidental shooting at the East Tundi police station, located about 34 km from the district headquarters, on Sunday morning.
The police reported that the incident occurred around 8 AM when Nandkishor Singh was alone in a room. Upon hearing the sound of a gunshot, other security personnel rushed to the room and found him lying on the ground.
The police personnel immediately rushed Singh to Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) in Dhanbad, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors.

Investigation underway
Upon receiving information, Dhanbad’s City Superintendent of Police, Ajit Kumar, arrived at the East Tundi police station to gather details of the incident.
“Hawaldar Nandkishor Singh died from a gunshot wound. The police are investigating the incident from various angles to determine whether it was accidental firing or if there was another cause,” the City SP told the media.
Nandkishor Singh was a resident of Lesliganj in Palamu district and had been deployed at the CRPF Camp in East Tundi, Dhanbad.
