Jharkhand News: Seraikela-Kharsawan police bust two vehicle theft gangs

Jamshedpur, Sept 12: In a major crackdown on rising vehicle theft, Seraikela-Kharsawan police, under the direction of Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Lunayat, busted two active gangs operating in the district.

The special drive led to the arrest of 10 criminals, detention of 4 minors, and recovery of 17 stolen motorcycles along with a pickup van.

Briefing the media on Friday, SP Lunayat said the first breakthrough came in Adityapur, where two suspects were caught near Lal Building on the Tata–Kandra main road.

Their interrogation revealed involvement in multiple thefts. On their lead, police seized seven motorcycles, a pickup van, and arrested six more members of the gang.

In a separate operation at Gopidih Chowk under Kuchai police station, six suspects were nabbed during vehicle checking with two stolen bikes. Further questioning led to the recovery of seven more motorcycles.

Two accused were arrested while four minors were detained.

The SP credited the success to the coordinated efforts of Sub-Divisional Police Officers and Station House Officers, stressing that the campaign against vehicle theft will continue with more intensive checks and strict action.
