Dhanbad, July 30: Several leading private schools in Dhanbad have announced a holiday on August 1 in view of President Droupadi Murmu’s scheduled visit to the district.
The President will attend the 45th Convocation of IIT (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, as the chief guest.
As per the official schedule, President Murmu will participate in the convocation ceremony from 12 noon to 3 pm on Friday before leaving for her next engagement in the state.

Institutions that have declared closure include CMRI De Nobili School, Rajkamal Saraswati Vidya Mandir, St. Xavier International School, Dhanbad Public School (Hirak branch), Credo World School, and DY Patil School. Delhi Public School (DPS) has suspended junior section classes, while its senior section will operate for half a day.
A school principal explained that the main road from Barwadda Airstrip to IIT-ISM will be heavily barricaded for security purposes during the President’s movement. “The decision was taken to avoid inconvenience to students,” the principal stated.

Apart from the President, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister PK Mishra, State Higher and Technical Education Minister Sudivya Kumar, IIT-ISM Board of Governors Chairman Prof. Prem Vrat, and Director Prof. Sukumar Mishra will also address the convocation.
