Hostel not allocated even after five years
Para medical student hostel of SNMMCH is being prepared since five years but students have not been allotted rooms due to non-supply of power connection and water. Two years ago the then additional chief secretary of health Arun Kumar Singh during his SNMMCH inspection assured to provide funds for power and water supply. He retired but fund has not come so far.
“Hostel is meant for students and we are eager to provide them as soon as possible. But we can’t ask them to live in the dark that too without water. A transformer is kept in the hostel. The principal (Dr Jyotiranjan Prasad) has already written department for funds so that the transformer can be installed. We are waiting for the direction of the health department “, said Dr Ganesh Kumar.
In lack of hostel, para medical students of SNMMCH have to live in rented houses far away from college. For the last four years, they have been agitating for allotment of rooms. A delegation of Para medical students met twice director in-chief of health Dr CK Sahi at Ranchi and he promised to restore power and water connection but he has yet to act.
