Jharkhand News: Sports fest ‘Ignite 2025’ enters day 2 at Sona Devi University

Jamshedpur, Dec 10: The second day of Ignite 2025, the four-day annual sports festival of Sona Devi University, Ghatsila, unfolded with energy, enthusiasm and competition.

The day commenced with a volleyball match that set the tone for the events to follow.

Assistant Registrar Archana Singh inaugurated the day’s proceedings and motivated the players, emphasising that sports cultivate confidence, discipline and leadership — qualities essential for holistic personality development.

In the Shot Put (Boys), Yellow House clinched the top position with impressive performances by Jaidev Das, Nilesh Pratap Singh and Irfan Alam.

In the girls’ category, Blue House emerged victorious as Aparna Sheet, Monali and Suman delivered outstanding results.

The Discus Throw contests also witnessed fierce participation.

Yellow House once again secured first place in the boys’ category, with Jaidev, Irfan and Manav excelling.

The girls’ category saw another win for Yellow House, led by strong performances from Laxmi, Neha and Khushi.

The Girls’ Football Penalty Shootout was among the day’s most thrilling events, with Red House securing first place, followed by Green House in second and Yellow House in third.

In the “Hit the Wicket” event for girls, Blue House claimed first place, Green House second and Red House finished third.

The highlight of the day was the cricket semifinal. The final between Red House and Yellow House will take place tomorrow.

Throughout the event, the medical team—Harsha Verma, Uma Mahato and Shafinaz Taeba—actively assisted participants with prompt medical support, earning appreciation for their dedication.
