Jamshedpur, July 30: St. John’s High School hosted its Annual English Elocution and Speech Contest on Wednesday. The event, held in the School Hall, showcased the oratory skills of students from LKG to Class XI.

The contest began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Students across all age groups participated in various categories that included elocution, choral recitation, and persuasive public speaking.

Young learners from junior classes recited poems and rhymes, while the senior students addressed contemporary and thought-provoking themes through speeches.

The event was judged by a panel comprising Ishita Das, former Senior Manager and Business Analyst, and Moushomi Dutta, educationist. The event was graced by G. Francis, Director of SJHS, and Ashu Tiwary, Principal, SJHS.

Results: Primary Segment (Category 2): Class 2 was declared the winner, Category 3: Zikra Fatima emerged as the winner, Category 4: Arifa Firdaus secured the first prize, Category 5: Sharmistha Chandra was declared the winner.

Special commendations were awarded to Anjum Fatima, Ayush Saw, Vaibhavi Sahu, and Rahul Dev Mandal for their outstanding performances.

Speaking on the occasion, the judges praised the school for nurturing platforms that foster language skills, creative expression, and self-confidence among students. They emphasized the lasting impact of such events on a child’s overall personality development.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the students, teachers, and the organising team. Special appreciation was extended to Principal Ashu Tiwary.
