Jamshedpur, Oct 24: Tension prevailed near Manoharpur after unidentified miscreants pelted stones at the Mumbai–Howrah Duronto Express on Wednesday night.

One passenger was injured, and several windows were damaged in the attack.

The incident occurred as the train passed through a remote stretch, causing panic among passengers.

Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) launched an immediate probe and are scanning CCTV footages to identify the culprits.

Railway officials termed the act a serious threat to passenger safety and have stepped up security and patrolling along the route.
Notably, this is not the first incident of stone pelting on trains in the Chakradharpur division.
In the past, several mail and express trains have been targeted by miscreants.
Various passenger outfits, including Chhotanagpur Passenger Association, termed it a serious issue with respect to the safety and security of passengers.
