Dhanbad, July 1: The three-day national conference on Modeling, Analysis and Simulation concluded today at IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad in which experts exhorted the participants to shed the fear of asking questions and shyness to talk.

The conference was organized by the Department of Mathematics & Computing, IIT ISM in which 150 scientists, faculty members and research scholars of famous technical institutes of the country attended.
In the valedictory function, eminent mathematician Prof GP Rajasekhar was chief guest, while Prof MK Singh, dean (academic) presided over the function.
Prof Rajasekhar while addressing said that for excelling in science, the first and foremost criteria is to shed the fear of asking questions and inhibition to talk to experts.

He highlighted the significance of the interdisciplinary nature of education as per the requirements of the National Education Policy (NEP) and said things are changing and the role of mathematicians is not limited.
Prof MK Singh, dean (academic), in his presidential address, said that such events serve the purpose of outreach activity for an institute as teaching, research, outreach and peer perceptions are very crucial ingredients of the curriculum of any institute.
He further said that such kinds of activities are the need of the hour and all departments nowadays have been instructed to carry out lots of meaningful activities, so performing, reforming and transforming are basic requirements to excel.
Prof RK Upadhyay, HoD, Mathematics and Computing cum the chairman of the conference, threw light on the background of the conference.
81 research papers presented
Prof Sanjeev Anand Sahu, convener of the conference while presenting the report said that in the three days conference, a total of 81 research papers were presented by participants including research scholars and faculty members from NIT Raipur, NIT Andhra Pradesh, IIT Guwahati, IIT Delhi” and 16 eminent experts.
