Jamshedpur, Dec 7: In a breakthrough, the police arrested three lady drug peddlers from Adityapur Muslim Bustee under the Adityapur thana area in the adjoining Seraikela- Kharsawan district on Saturday.
While making the arrests, the police seized 35.44 grams of brown sugar worth Rs seven lakhs from the possession of the accused.
Those arrested were identified as Rahima Khatoon alias Motki, Nazmun Nisha and Sahida Khatoon, all residents of Adityapur Muslim Bustee.
Revealing the breakthrough, Seraikela-Kharsawan SP Mukesh Lunayet said that the arrests were made following a tip-off about the ongoing drug peddling activities at the Muslim Bustee.

“After getting the information regarding the drug-peddling activities verified, a police team led by the SDPO, Seraikela raided the bustee and nabbed three women with over 35 grams of brown sugar worth Rs seven lakhs, “Lunayet while briefing the newsmen at the police office in Adityapur said.
He said of those arrested Rahima Khatoon alias Motki is a notorious drug peddler as she had already been arrested quadruple times earlier.
Giving an account of the action taken by the police against the drug peddlers, the senior SP said so far 236 grams of brown sugar have been seized from the Adityapur Muslim Bustee during the past five months. He pointed out that during this period all 21 drug peddlers were arrested under the NDPS Act.
The senior police officer stated that apart from these arrests, 24 other suspected drug peddlers are on the police radar in Adityapur.
