Jamshedpur, Jan 6: Police on Monday arrested two persons, including an employee of Hyva India Pvt Ltd for firing at the gate of the same company under RIT thana area in Adityapur on Saturday night.

Those arrested were identified as Sanjiv Kumar Jha and Sarbjit Sharma.

While arresting the two, the police recovered a country-made pistol and a motorcycle from their possession by raiding their houses in Adityapur.

Motive behind the firing

While Jha was a former security supervisor of Hyva India, Sharma was the area manager of the same company.

The reason behind the firing was that Sarbjit Sharma was recently transferred to the company’s Pune unit against his will. On the other hand, Sanjiv Jha who had leave the company for some reason a year ago was a friend of Sharma.

After Sarbjit was served the transfer letter on December 31, he talked to Jha over the issue to teach the company management a lesson by conspiring a plan together.

Incident details

RIT thana OC, Vinay Kumar, said as per their plan both Jha and Sharma arrived at the gate of Hyva India at about 8.00 pm on Saturday and asked the security guards at the company’s gate duty to open the gate.

“But when the guards refused to oblige, the duo first abused the guards profusely and subsequently one of them opened fire targeting the gate,” said the OC while talking to the newsmen today.

In this connection, the police had registered a case against both Jha and Sharma on the FIR lodged by Sanjay Kumar Gupta, manager, HR, Hyva India, leading the former to swing into action.
