Jamshedpur, Oct 21: With an aim of making women self-reliant, promoting women entrepreneurship and encouraging local artisans, the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) is organising a two-day Diwali Trade Fair-2024 on October 21-22 at the Chamber Bhawan in Bistupur.

Vice-president, (Trade and Commerce) of the trade body Anil Modi said due to the busy schedule of people, Diwali shopping becomes a bit troublesome.

Keeping this view, the Chamber Bhavan organizes the fair every year before Diwali to provide all the related items under one roof in an organized manner.

He said that in view of the success of the Diwali fair organized by the Singhbhum Chamber every year, the number of stalls in it is increasing.

This year too more stalls have been put up than last year, which have been fully reserved. Variety has been taken care of in the stalls.

President Vijay Anand Moonka said that the fair is not only organised for the Chamber members but all the citizens are invited to it who get Diwali related items at affordable prices.

By organising such a fair, local artisans also get encouragement and promotion which is also the aim of the Chamber. He urged people to participate in the fair in large numbers.

Secretary (Trade and Commerce), Bharat Makani said that a poster was also released to promote the Diwali fair.

At the fair, not only earthen lamps made by local potters are available, but clothes, pickles, papads, artificial jewellery and other products prepared at home by women are also being displayed and sold.
