Jamshedpur, June 28: Two youths were killed on the spot as the bike they were riding was hit by a bus under the Tonto thana area in West Singhbhum about 100 km away from here on Friday morning.

The mishap took place between Jamdih and Kochda villages on Jagannathpur-Chaibasa road at about 8.00 am.

The bodies of both the victims lay there for a considerable period and later they were identified as those of Subham Kumar Gupta and Roshan Gope, both residents of Chainasa and Nimdih areas respectively.

From the driving licence and I-cards, it was established that both the victims were working in the Jio Tower section.

The police have seized the bodies and shifted them to Chainasa Sadar Hospital mortuary for postmortem.

According to locals, the bus reportedly Laxmi Bus, was coming from the Jagannathpur end whereas the victims were heading towards Jagannathpur from Chaibasa at a breakneck speed as the collision took place.

The Tonto police are trying to trace the bus by taking statements of the local residents.
