Jamshedpur, June 23: The Netaji Subhas University, located at Pokhari in the outskirts of Jamshedpur, held its third convocation ceremony in a grand manner on Monday, marking a significant academic milestone in the university’s journey.
The event was graced by Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh, as the chief guest, and Prof. Shukla Mohanty, former Vice Chancellor of Kolhan University and currently serving as an academic advisor to the Government of Odisha, as the guest of honour.
The convocation saw the conferral of degrees upon more than 1,500 students from undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes of the academic years 2023 and 2024.

In his keynote address, Union Minister Giriraj Singh emphasized the importance of channelling the energy and education of youth towards nation-building. “India’s youth must become capable not just of seeking jobs but of creating them. The true power of education lies in making the country self-reliant and strong,” he remarked.
The ceremony commenced with a Ganesh Vandana performed by university students, followed by the traditional lamp lighting ceremony and Sai Vandana.
Registrar of the university, Nagendra Singh, administered the convocation oath to the graduating students, reaffirming their commitment to academic integrity and social responsibility.
Chancellor of the University, Madan Mohan Singh, delivered an address, recalling the vision behind the establishment of the institution. “We observed that many meritorious students were forced to migrate due to lack of quality infrastructure and resources. Netaji Subhas University was founded to bridge this gap. Today, it is a matter of great pride that over 8,000 students are currently enrolled here,” he said.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Prabhat Kumar Pani presented a concise academic report, highlighting the university’s progress and achievements, while Controller of Examinations Prof. Moiz Ashraf shared details of the examination system and extended best wishes to the graduates.
The event was attended by university officials, deans of various faculties, department heads, academic and administrative staff, students, and their families.
The convocation not only celebrated academic excellence but also symbolized the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of the graduates.

Union Minister inaugurates Academic Block of Netaji Subhas Medical College at Adityapur
Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh also inaugurated the academic block of Netaji Subhas Medical College & Hospital at Adityapur on Monday.
Welcomed by chairman Madan Mohan Singh, the minister also addressed the media. The new hospital has state-of-the-art facilities and it caters to patients coming from various places across the Kolhan region.
The Union Minister Singh highlighted the Centre’s efforts to boost the textile and tasar industry in Jharkhand, with initiatives already underway in Nagri, Ranchi. He emphasized that under PM Modi’s leadership, India is poised to become a top global nation by 2047.
