Ranchi, Nov 8: Usha Martin University, Ranchi, successfully hosted its week-long annual Tech Fest, “Martinovation-2025,” with participation from students across the country. The event served as a platform for innovation, creativity, and hands-on learning in science and technology.

The inauguration ceremony was held on November 3 and was graced by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Milind, Dean Academics Prof. B. N. Sinha, Registrar Shiv Pratap Verma, Campus Director Anil Kumar Mishra, and Controller of Examinations Dr. Vinay Singh.

The occasion also witnessed the presence of Dr. Naghma Khatoon, Head of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, and Dr. Abhishek Pandey, Head of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

The organizing team was led by Umanand Mishra, Shivanjali Sudhanshu, Himank Jaiswal, and Madhur Manoj from B.Tech (CSE) final year, whose leadership and teamwork were instrumental in the success of the event.

Technical Events and Hackathon

This year’s edition of Martinovation featured more than 20 technical and creative events, including the Hackathon, Web Development Challenge, Robotics Competition, Robo Race, and several other interactive sessions.

The Hackathon stood out as the flagship event, promoting real-world problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation. Over 15 renowned institutions, including BIT Sindri, NIT Jamshedpur, and Ramgarh Engineering College, participated. A total prize pool of ₹40,000 was distributed among the winning teams for their innovative and outstanding performances.

Expert Talks and Workshops

The festival also featured expert sessions by speakers. Aamin Uddin from IIT Guwahati spoke about the future of Artificial Intelligence and sustainable technology; Sanat Vibhor from VIT Vellore discussed interdisciplinary innovation and modern engineering approaches; Isha, a Shopify expert, conducted a session on e-commerce development and digital entrepreneurship; and Ankit Rai, a cybersecurity expert, led a practical workshop on ethical hacking and cybersecurity awareness.

Competitions and Winners

The midweek segment of Martinovation-2025 brought another round of engaging events celebrating creativity and collaboration.

The Web Development Competition, coordinated by Himank Jaiswal and Aryan Sinha, highlighted talent in design and coding.  The first prize was won by Aditya Singh Chandel and Aditya Aashish from Central University of Jharkhand, while the second prize went to Samridhi Tripathi, Shashi Kumari Verma, and Prashant Dubey.

Another major attraction was the Robo Race, coordinated by Pankaj and Reyan, where innovation met precision and speed. Vivek Kumar and Aman Sharma from RVS College secured first place, followed by Aniket Kumar and Yaha Ahmed in second position.

The AI Bot Challenge, organized by Aryan Sinha, showcased cutting-edge applications of artificial intelligence, with Aditya Raj and Nishant Sharma from Usha Martin University winning first prize, and Om Anand and Adarsh Kumar, also from UMU, securing second place.

Tech Talk and Closing Ceremony

The day concluded with an engaging Tech Talk session coordinated by Shivanjali and Samiksha. Speakers Sanat Vibhor and Isha shared their experiences and insights on the evolving landscape of technology and innovation, inspiring students to think critically and creatively.

In his address, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Milind commended the organizing committee for their efforts and encouraged students to embrace experiential learning and innovative problem-solving.

Dean Academics Prof. B. N. Sinha highlighted the significance of research, teamwork, and interdisciplinary learning in advancing education and technology.

The closing ceremony on November 8 featured a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Naghma Khatoon, Head of FCIT, and Dr. Abhishek Pandey, Head of FEAS. They expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, speakers, faculty members, participants, and volunteers for their dedication and support in making Martinovation-2025 a resounding success.
