Jamshedpur, Dec 23: XITE Gamharia ushered in the festive season with an enchanting Christmas celebration that brought together students, faculty, and dignitaries in a spirit of love, peace, and unity.
The event was organized by the cultural club coordinators and the Branding and Communications Department, creating an evening filled with joy and meaningful reflections.
The celebration commenced at 5 pm, graced by the presence of dignitaries including Sr. Nivedita, Sr. Sabita, Sr. Sheela, Br. Amal, Fr. Edwin Ritesh Dungdung, SJ, Dr. (Fr.) E. A. Francis, SJ, and Dr. (Fr.) Mukti Clarence, SJ.

Their participation added warmth and significance to the event, fostering a sense of togetherness within the XITE community.

Highlights of the Celebration
The centrepiece of the evening was the beautifully enacted nativity scene by the first-year students.
Directed by Manisha and Priya Murmu, the play vividly depicted the birth of Jesus Christ, emphasizing themes of faith, humility and divine grace.
Second-year girls showcased a dance celebrating the festive spirit with a medley of Christmas songs.
Nancy and her group delivered a mesmerizing dance performance, captivating the audience with their grace and synchronization.
Hostel boys lit up the stage with an energetic and creative dance, receiving thunderous applause.
A solo hymn performance by Shreshtha added a reflective note to the celebration.

The Gamharia Christian Youth Members and the 7 PM Band and Choir enchanted the audience with traditional and modern carols, spreading joy and harmony.
Fr. E. A. Francis, the principal, delivered a Christmas message, encouraging values of compassion, forgiveness and gratitude.
Assist. Prof. Sushmita Sen Choudhary emphasized the relevance of Christmas values in today’s world during her speech.
The evening concluded with a bonfire, symbolizing warmth and togetherness. Attendees enjoyed soup and cake, adding a comforting and festive touch to the celebration.
