Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Verma Garu, who served as the chief guest, presented the awards to Dr. Raghvendra Kumar and Dr. Aman Kumar Singh.

Both played instrumental roles in spearheading protests against the tragic murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College Hospital, Kolkata. Their leadership in these activities was part of a larger movement called by the IMA national body.
