Jamshedpur, Aug 13: A 30-year-old youth was shot dead by a gang of four bike-borne criminals at Gadra locality under the suburban Parsudih thana area on Monday night.
Criminals fired four shots causing spot death of victim
Identified as Loknath Thakur alias Pukki was riding back home at Gadra where the assailants had launched the gun-shot attack, causing the victim to die on the spot.
The criminals had fired four shots at Loknath while he was negotiating a turn near the Gadra Vikash Bhawan and fled the scene as soon as the victim fell down.

Soon after the incident, local residents informed the police, leading a police party to rush to the spot only to find the bullets-ridden body of the youth.
The police later recovered four empty cartridges, a pellet and the victim’s motorcycle from the crime scene.
Victim was released from jail three months ago
According to sources, the murder victim’s family had earlier stayed in the Telco thana area and had shifted to Ambednagar in Gadra a year ago.
When Thakur stayed in Telco he was arrested for indulging in an assault case and was jailed. He was released from jail three months ago only.
Thakur would consume liquor and was under the influence of liquor when he was attacked last night.

The police are trying to detect the four assailants by talking to the bereaved family members and also going over to the area where the victim stayed earlier.
