DC Reaches Out on Staircase

Sheela, a physically challenged woman, was struggling to climb the stairs to reach the DC’s first-floor chamber with her complaint. When information about her difficulty reached Shekhawat, he immediately came out, reached her on the staircase, and addressed her grievance there.

Ignoring official protocol, the DC sat on the staircase and wrote the order on her application, assuring her that her work would be completed without further inconvenience.

Assurance to the Applicant

“I have written to the SDO madam. Your work will be done. Do not worry,” the DC told her, ensuring she would not have to return for the same issue.

The disabled woman and her husband, also a disabled person, were harassed and humiliated by some rough elements during their course of livelihood by the side of the road in Daltonganj.

The gesture marked a unique beginning to the ‘Jan Samadhan’ initiative, presenting a people-centric approach without administrative formality and setting an example of responsive governance.
