Jharkhand: Police bus crushes school girl in Deoghar

Deoghar, February 9: A 14-year-old school girl was hit and run over by a police bus in Deoghar on Friday morning near D A V School Castoir town under the Town police area.

At least two minors were also injured in the incident.

The incident took place while all were going to their school riding on a scooty.

The deceased has been identified as Ishika Manjul a student of St.  Francis School Deoghar who was going to take her final examination of class ninth.

The injured have been identified as Ayansh and Vidisha.

According to the father of the deceased Rakesh, all were going to the school.

“Ayansh and Vidisha, cousins of Ishika, were to get off at DAV School but before they could the bus hit the scooty. Ishika was run over and two minors were dragged to some distance”, he said.

After the incident, the driver of the bus fled away from the spot.

Being informed of the incident policemen were deployed in the area. The injured were brought to Sadar Hospital, Deoghar.

DC Vishal Sagar rushed to Sadar Hospital to take account of the injured. He assured that medical expenses would be taken care of by the district administration. He claimed that the driver of the bus had been arrested.

Ironically, the bus was supposed to drop the students at DAV School.
