Dhanbad, Sept 28: The Dhanbad Cricket Association (DCA) has commenced a three-day seminar for umpires and scorers involved in district league and tournament matches, focusing on the latest changes to rules and regulations.
Updated rules and regulations
Vinay Singh, an executive member of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) and former secretary of DCA, emphasised that many rules and regulations have been updated. The seminar aims to inform participants about the latest rules framed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The seminar, hosted at the DCA office in Shahid Randhir Verma Stadium, is attended by 25 umpires and scorers. Notable BCCI Level-I umpires Dharmendra Kumar, Niraj Pathak, and OM Prakash Rai are providing valuable insights and tips to the attendees.

Training schedule and technical guidance
Vinay Singh explained that the first two days of the seminar will focus on theoretical knowledge, while a practical session will be conducted on Sunday to assess how much participants have learned.
The umpires and scorers will receive technical guidance on managing match overs, particularly when there are delays. They will learn how to deduct overs if a team arrives late while their opponents are present on time.
The seminar also covers important aspects such as the bio-lodge of DCA.
DCA vice-president Manoj Kumar Singh, general secretary Uttam Biswas, and assistant treasurer Sunil Kumar addressed the participants during the inaugural session.
Several DCA members, including Dipak Kumar, Gyan Ranjan Sinha, Manishankar Jha, Pappu Kumar Singh, Sangit Bhattacharya, Rewat Lal, Mahesh Kumar Singh, Aman Kumar Singh, Nirmal Kumar Jha, Saurabh Singh, Prince Sharma, Mayank Raj, and Raju Prasad Mahesh Gorai, were also present to support the event.
