Jamshedpur, Jan 27: The Tata Education Excellence Programme rejuvenated its initiative, the ‘Outstanding Activity Club’ Award 2023-2024 for Jamshedpur schools participating in its programme.

Introduced in 2016, the Outstanding Activity Club Award is a unique attempt by the Tata Education Excellence Programme (TEEP) to motivate the Jamshedpur schools to leverage Activity Clubs for overall student development and to provide a platform for them to highlight the impact of clubs on their students and society.

23 activity clubs present their work

The event was held at the Golmuri Club Auditorium on January 23. A total of 23 activity clubs from 16 schools presented their work in the year gone by.

The activity club presentations by the student members and teacher moderators were judged by a two-member jury comprising Ashu Tiwary, principal, Motilal Nehru Public School and  Renu Mahashabde, educator and teacher.

The programme commenced with a welcome address and jury introduction by TEEP Executive Vidya Battiwalla, followed by the activity club presentations.

Sandhya Murthy, president, Tinplate Ladies Welfare Association, was also present.

Addressing the students and teacher moderators, she appreciated the hard work put in by various clubs. The Program concluded with the announcement of the best teams by jury member Ashu Tiwary.

TEEP enabling quality education

Started in 2003, the Tata Education Excellence Program enables schools to improve the quality of education through a calibrated approach.

This program is run in private, government, semi-government, urban, semi-urban and rural schools.

The schools voluntarily participate in this program which consists of a year-long engagement after which these participating schools are assessed on education excellence maturity.

The framework of the program is adapted from the renowned Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence criteria.

Currently, this program is being run for schools in/around Jamshedpur.
