Jamshedpur, Feb 7: A teenage girl who was admitted to the MGM Medical College Hospital (MGMMCH) with a high percentage of burns on February 2 afternoon succumbed to her burns at the hospital on Wednesday.
A resident of B-Block at Dhatkidih in Bistupur, the deceased identified as Resma Perveen had set herself on fire having poured kerosene oil at her house, causing her to sustain severe burns.
Soured love affair led to suicide
It is said Resma Perveen (15) was upset due to a soured love affair and when there was no one at home she took the drastic step to end her life.

A putrid smell filled the surrounding areas coupled with a billowing smoke had attracted the neighbours’ attention to that home. The neighbours were then prompted to come to the rescue of the girl and rushed her to MGMMCH.
At the hospital, the girl’s condition was gradually deteriorating, but this morning her condition worsened fast and ultimately she succumbed to her burns.
The police have recovered the body and sent it to the MGM Medical College mortuary for postmortem, having registered a case of unnatural death.
