Jharkhand to host 4th SAFF Senior Athletics Championship; CM Hemant invited as chief guest

 

Ranchi, Oct 22: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren met Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sudivya Kumar along with Secretary Manoj Kumar, Sports Director Shekhar Jamuar, and Madhukant Pathak, Secretary of the Jharkhand Olympic Association, at the Chief Minister’s residential office on Tuesday.

The delegation extended a formal invitation to the Chief Minister to grace the opening ceremony of the 4th South Asian Athletics Federation (SAFF) Senior Athletics Championship as the chief guest.

The championship will be held from October 24 to 26 at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium in Morhabadi, Ranchi. The opening ceremony is scheduled for October 24 at 6 PM. During the meeting, the Sports Minister briefed the Chief Minister on the preparations for the event.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed his pride in Jharkhand hosting international sports events and said that the state has consistently organized national and international competitions.

He hoped that the SAFF Senior Athletics Championship in Ranchi would be a grand, successful event, further establishing Jharkhand’s reputation in the international sports arena.
