Minister Chamra Linda highlighted that previously, only seven Eklavya Model Schools were operational in the state, which restricted educational access for thousands of tribal children. To address this, he directed officials to manage all Eklavya Model and Ashram Schools under the Welfare Department as Centers of Excellence.

He emphasized that the state government is committed to improving the education and health of tribal children, aiming for a transformative impact in these sectors.

Additionally, the Minister announced that students currently enrolled in Eklavya Model Residential Schools located far from their home districts (except for classes 9 and 10) would be given the option to transfer to schools in their home districts. The window for opting for such transfers is set between February 15 and February 25, 2025. Any resulting vacancies must be filled as part of the enrollment process for April 2025, organized class-wise.

Other Key Instructions

  1. Enrollment Process: The Divisional Deputy Directors of Welfare, Jharkhand, will be fully responsible for the enrollment process for the academic session 2025–26.
  2. Selection Process: Priority must be given to enrolling selected students in Eklavya Model Residential Schools within their blocks, districts, or adjacent districts wherever possible.
  3. District Coverage: In districts without an Eklavya Model Residential School, selected students should be admitted to the nearest school as per their preference. Efforts must be made to ensure convenient enrollment for all selected students.
  4. Basic Facilities: Immediate provision of basic facilities in all Eklavya Model Residential Schools must be ensured. Construction agencies must provide clear timelines for the completion of pending construction work under the New EMRS Scheme.
