Jharkhand U-14 football team meets CM Hemant Soren after National Championship win

 

Ranchi, Dec 9: The Under-14 boys’ football team of Jharkhand met Chief Minister Hemant Soren at the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly today. The Chief Minister congratulated the players, coaches, and support staff on their remarkable achievement of becoming national champions and wished them a bright future.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Soren highlighted the immense potential of sports in Jharkhand and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the holistic development of athletes.

He said the government aims to provide recognition to talented players at both national and international levels. The Chief Minister also lauded the dedication and talent of the state’s youth, noting that their achievements are elevating Jharkhand’s pride on the national stage.

The Jharkhand U-14 boys’ football team clinched the national championship title at the 69th School Games Federation of India (SGFI) National School Football Championship, held from December 1 to 6, 2025, in Umaria, Madhya Pradesh.

Jharkhand defeated Punjab 6–5 in a thrilling penalty shootout in the final to secure the title. The event was organized under the banner of the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC).
