Jamshedpur, Dec 21: The minimum temperature witnessed an abrupt rise across Jharkhand with several places in Kolhan recording as high as 16 degrees Celsius.
Jamshedpur today recorded a minimum temperature of 16 degrees Celsius while Chaibasa in neighbouring West Singhbhum district notched 15.6 degrees.
Seraikela today recorded a minimum temperature of 17 degrees Celsius. while Ranchi and Daltonganj today recording minimum temperature of around 13 degrees Celsius.
Khunti recorded 12.2 degrees Celsius while Simdega recorded 13.4 degrees.
The well-marked low-pressure area over west central and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal persists.
The associated upper cyclonic circulation was extending upto 5.8 Km above the mean sea level.
The system is likely to continue to move nearly northwards and concentrate into a depression over west central Bay of Bengal .
A Western disturbance was also lying as a trough in the lower and middle tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 Km above mean sea level.
IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre did not issue any weather alerts for the next 48 hours.
Weathermen said fair weather is expected from tomorrow. Moreover, the minimum temperature would again witness a fall after the next 24 hours.
