Jamshedpur, Oct 24: Gusty wind blowing at a speed of 30- 40 Kmph accompanied by heavy showers is expected in south- eastern Jharkhand today due to the impact of cyclonic storm Dana.
Overcast conditions prevailed in the entire Kolhan region comprising three districts – East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela- Kharsawan.
Cyclonic storm Dana over east-central Bay of Bengal moved northwestwards and lay about 520 Km southeast of Paradip (Odisha), 600 km south-southeast of Sagar Island (West Bengal) and 610 km south-southeast of Khepupara (Bangladesh).
The cyclone is very likely to move northwestwards and intensify into a severe cyclonic storm over the northwest Bay of Bengal by early morning of today and cross north Odisha and West Bengal coasts between Puri and Sagar Island close to Bhitarkanika and Dhamara (Odisha) as a severe cyclonic storm early tomorrow morning with a wind speed of 100-110 Kmph gusting 120 Kmph.
The Kolhan administration has issued an alert of Do’s and Don’t in view of the cyclonic storm whose impact will be much felt in southern Jharkhand
IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre also issued an alert of heavy to very heavy rain in isolated places of southern and central Jharkhand in the next 48 hours.
