Jamshedpur, August 13: A few isolated places in northern and central Jharkhand are expected to witness heavy showers today, predicted weathermen.
IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre also did not rule out the possibility of thunder and lightning at a few isolated places.
The rain deficit of Jharkhand as of August 12 stood at 15 per cent. Against a normal of 627 mm the state has actually received 535 mm of rain.
Except for Lohardaga, Jamtara, East Singhbhum and West Singhbhum, most districts got normal rainfall, suggested rain statistics.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Bikaner, Delhi, Agra, Gwalior, Satna, Daltonganj, Digha and thence east-southeastwards to northeast Bay of Bengal.
The low-pressure trough was running from the point of cyclonic circulation over northwest Madhya Pradesh to Bangladesh across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal extending up to 1.5 Km above mean sea level.
A cyclonic circulation lies over Jharkhand and neighbourhood at 5.8 Km above the mean sea level.
