Jamshedpur, July 10: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of light rain over Jharkhand today
According to the forecast, thundershower activity might also take place at a few isolated places today.
Monsoon currents have fallen weak over the state as the trough has drifted towards the north.
Satellite pictures and other weather observations revealed that the monsoon trough is expected to be restored by July 12 when again heavy rain is expected at a few isolated places in northern and central parts of the state.

The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Jaisalmer, Bhilwara, Raisen, Rajnandgaon, Puri and thence southeastwards to the central Bay of Bengal extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
The cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam and the neighbourhood extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level persists.
Light rain was observed at isolated places over the state during the past 24 hours.
Monsoon was weak over the state. The highest rainfall of 15 mm was recorded at Gurabandha (East Singhbhum).
