Jamshedpur, July 10: A 25-year-old youth was shot dead following a brawl between friends at Carriage Colony under the Burmamines thana area late in the night of Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Shubham Kumar, a resident of East Plant Bustee in Burmamines.

The murder took place at Carriage Colony Football Maidaan at around midnight, triggering a sensation in the adjoining residential area.

Shot in the head after a brawl

According to police, four youths namely Salil, Sagar, Shubham and Pavan had assembled at the football maidaan for boozing.

While consuming liquor, a brawl broke out over something between the four who were all friends together. When the tussle spun out of control, one of the four identified as Salil took out a pistol from his waist and fired a shot in Shubham’s head from point-blank range.

Police hunting assailants

OC, Burmamines thana, Alok Dubey said the police could know about the incident at about 2.00 am today and have been trying to detect the case ever since.
