Jamshedpur, Sept 3: Several isolated places over Jharkhand are expected to witness thundershowers and lightning today, said a Met office forecast.
According to weathermen based at IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre light to moderate rain is expected at a few places today as monsoon has become weak over Jharkhand.
Many places in southern and central Jharkhand today woke up to overcast conditions with a gentle breeze.
The depression over East Vidarbha and adjoining Telangana moved northwestwards.
It is likely to move nearly northwestwards across Vidarbha and weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Jaisalmer, Raisen, Chhindwara, centre of depression over East Vidarbha and adjoining Telangana, Machilipatnam and thence southeastwards to east-central Bay of Bengal.
According to weathermen, a fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over the adjoining Bay of Bengal around September 5.
