Jamshedpur, August 10: If the forecast of IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre is any indication, light to moderate rain is expected at many places across Jharkhand today.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Bikaner, Shivpuri, Sidhi, Daltonganj, Digha and thence southeastwards to east-central Bay of Bengal extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
A cyclonic circulation lies over south Jharkhand and neighbourhood between 5.8 and 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height.

The cyclonic circulation over west Jharkhand, was today lying over southeast Uttar Pradesh extending up to 4.5 km above mean sea level.
Statistics revealed that Chandwa in Latehar district recorded the highest rainfall of 66.2 mm in the last 24 hours. This was followed by Bermo in Bokaro which recorded 32.4 mm of rain.
Chaibasa in West Singhbhum district recorded 22.1 mm of rain in past 24 hours while capital Ranchi recorded 2.4 mm of rain.
As of today, Jharkhand’s rain deficit stood at 14 %.
