Jamshedpur, Oct 17: Most parts of Jharkhand are expected to witness a partly cloudy sky today with the possibility of thundershowers at one or two places.
Weathermen said the maximum temperature is also expected to witness a downward trend.
Meanwhile, the depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal moved west-northwestwards and lay centred over the same region near latitude 12.3° N and longitude 83.0° E, about 320 km east-southeast of Chennai (Tamil Nadu), 350 km east-northeast of Puducherry and 400 km southeast of Nellore (Andhra Pradesh).

It is likely to move west-northwestwards and cross north Tamil Nadu -South Andhra Pradesh coasts between Puducherry and Nellore, close to Chennai today.
Satellite pictures suggested that a cyclonic circulation over sub-Himalayan West Bengal lay over north Bangladesh and adjoining Sub-Himalayan West Bengal at 0.9 Km above the mean sea level.
