Jharkhand Weather: Thunderstorm and rain alert extended for another 24 hours

Jamshedpur, Feb 22:  Several places across Jharkhand are expected to witness rain and thunderstorm activity in the next 24- hours.

IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre also issued an alert of isolated hail over southern and eastern parts of the state today.

According to the forecast, thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 40-50 kmph) are likely at isolated places over southern and eastern parts of the state today

Thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 30-40 kmph) are also likely at isolated places over western and northeastern parts of the state today.

Tomorrow, thunderstorms and lightning are expected at isolated places over eastern parts of the state.

Satellite pictures indicated a trough stretched from north Bangladesh to Telangana across Gangetic West Bengal, interior Odisha and southern Chhattisgarh extending upto 1.5 Km above mean sea level.

However, weathermen said the system was gradually becoming weak.

Meanwhile, the minimum temperature gradually increased, robbing the chill from most parts of the state.
