Jamshedpur, Feb 27: A 25-year-old youth was found lying murdered inside a bush under the RIT Thana area in Adityapur on Tuesday morning.

Identified as Sonaram Kerai, the murder victim was originally a resident of Sonua block in West Singhbhum, but he would stay at a rented house in Beldih Bustee here in Adityapur.

Sonaram who used to work in construction sites as a labourer had come out of his house in the evening along with a friend but did not return home. In the morning, his mutilated body was found inside a bush at Krishnapur near DLD Company.

From the condition of the body, it appears that someone has bludgeoned his head, causing him to die.

Getting information about the mutilated body, a police party reached the spot and recovered it and sent it to the Seraikela Sadar Hospital for postmortem.

While recovering the body, the police informed the victim’s family members and made the victim’s father to lodge an FIR against unknown.

RIT Thana OC, Vinay Kumar said Sonaram’s friend who had accompanied the victim is at the centre of suspicion.

“It is learned that both Sonaram and his friend had consumed liquor. Having boozed, both of them might have quarrelled over something. Later, the friend might have bludgeoned Sonaram to death, ” said Kumar while talking to The Jharkhand Story.

The OC said they tried to trace the suspect, but he could not be traced, adding that they are trying to find out by conducting raids at every probable hideout.
