THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK
Ranchi, April 18: In a bold step to bring more investment and jobs to Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren will lead a high-level government and industry delegation to Spain from April 19 to 27. The visit is part of the state’s larger plan to attract global investment in key areas like steel, power, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing.
He will be joined by his wife Kalpana Soren, top bureaucrats, and industry leaders, all aiming to showcase Jharkhand as a promising destination for international investors.
Why Spain – and What’s at Stake
Spain and India have been building strong economic ties in recent years. With more than 280 Spanish companies already operating in India, and trade between the two nations expected to hit nearly $9 billion this year, the timing couldn’t be better for Jharkhand to step in and grab attention.

The state will promote its potential in sectors like clean energy, electric mobility, smart infrastructure, and metallurgy – all areas where Spain has strong expertise.

Big Players, Bigger Potential
Jharkhand, rich in minerals and industrial strength, is already home to giants like Tata Steel, SAIL, and NTPC. The state has also attracted investments from global names like Vedanta, Tata Power, and Linde Group in sectors such as steel production and energy.
With this visit, the government hopes to bring in more such investors, especially in environmentally sustainable and high-tech areas that offer long-term benefits.
B2B Meetings, Industry Talks, and a Stop in Sweden
While in Spain, the delegation will participate in business forums and one-on-one meetings with top industrial and energy companies, as well as public institutions. These sessions aim to build partnerships, attract funding, and explore public-private cooperation.
After Spain, the delegation will also make a brief stop in Sweden for additional meetings with key industry leaders.
