New Delhi, August 29: Chief Justice of India B R Gavai on Friday administered the oath of office to Justice Alok Aradhe, Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, and Justice Vipul Manubhai Pancholi, Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, as judges of the Supreme Court.
Their induction restores the apex court to its full sanctioned strength of 34 judges, including the CJI.
The two were formally elevated on August 27, following the collegium’s recommendation on August 25.

Justice Pancholi is also in line to become the Chief Justice of India, scheduled to assume office on October 3, 2031, after Justice Joymalya Bagchi’s retirement, and will serve until May 27, 2033.
