Jamshedpur, August 12: Security forces have stepped up anti-Naxal operations in the forested and vulnerable areas along the borders of East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts, with senior police and CRPF officials reviewing the security situation and ongoing operations on Wednesday.
The high-level meeting was chaired by Kolhan DIG Anurajan Kispotta and focused on assessing the progress of ongoing operations and strengthening a coordinated strategy to disrupt extremist networks in the region.
During the meeting, the DIG directed security personnel to intensify raids and search operations in sensitive forest and hilly areas.
He stressed the need for accurate and timely intelligence on extremist activities and called for swift action against those found involved in such activities.
Officials were also directed to maintain heightened vigilance in vulnerable pockets and strengthen surveillance to prevent extremist groups from attempting to regain a foothold in the region.
Police, CRPF Told to Step Up Coordination
The meeting placed particular emphasis on closer coordination between the state police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
Security personnel were instructed to increase foot marches and patrolling in vulnerable areas to maintain a visible security presence and reassure local communities.
The DIG emphasised that sustained operations, stronger intelligence gathering and close coordination among security agencies would be critical to disrupting extremist networks and maintaining long-term peace and security in the region.
Senior Police, CRPF Officers Attend Review
The meeting was attended by senior police and CRPF officers, including Kolhan DIG Anurajan Kispotta, Jamshedpur SSP Ehtesham Waquarib, Seraikela-Kharsawan SP Manoj Swargiyari, Superintendent of Police (Rural), Jamshedpur, SDPO Ghatshila and DSP Musabani.
Senior CRPF officials, including Deputy Commandants and Assistant Commandants, also participated in the meeting.
Officers-in-charge of Patamda, Bodam, Kamalpur, MGM, Ghatshila, Galudih, Chandil and Nimdih police stations were also present.
Heightened Vigil in Forested Pockets
The review comes as security forces continue to maintain a heightened presence in the forested and vulnerable pockets of Kolhan.
The focus remains on sustaining anti-Naxal operations, preventing any revival of extremist activity and strengthening security for communities living in areas considered vulnerable to extremist influence.
